Turn receipts into your food library.
Gmail is optional. You can search foods, enter package nutrition, paste a receipt or log meals without connecting email.
Connect your own Gmail
- Sign in to EatStride, then open Account → Connections.
- Read the mailbox-access explanation and choose Connect Gmail.
- Choose your Google account and review Google’s permission screen. Google sign-in alone does not grant mailbox access.
- Return to EatStride and choose the import destination below.
Groceries go into Food at home
Choose Find food → Food at home → Import from email. A connected account starts a receipt scan when you open this import flow. Review the items and estimated nutrition, select the groceries you still have, then choose Add to inventory. This does not change calories eaten. When you eat an item, use Log food and confirm your portion.
Restaurant orders build your usual places
In the Restaurants section, choose Import from Gmail. This remembers restaurant names and available past items. Select a place, choose an item, check its nutrition and portion, then confirm it in your food log. An order might feed several people; log only what you ate.
What is searched?
Recent imports search up to 30 days of supported delivery and grocery receipts. In Food at home, the older-purchase option searches up to 180 days using the product name you enter. Some emails lack item details, so you may need to paste an itemized receipt or add the food manually. Nutrition values are estimates to review.
Control your connection
Google grants mailbox-wide read permission, but EatStride uses it for the receipt features described above. Email contents pass through our server for your review; they are not saved as receipt bodies in the account database or sent to an AI service by the receipt importer. Disconnect in Account → Connections. Disconnecting does not remove previously saved groceries or meals. See the privacy policy for storage, export and deletion details.
Availability
Gmail import is currently a limited beta for approved test accounts while Google verification is prepared. If Google blocks your account, use food search or paste a receipt instead. Do not interpret a working EatStride login as confirmation that Gmail import is available to your account.
